 Amritsar Hockey Club (Regd.) Registration od Societies Act 1860 Registration No . Asr/818  -The Club was formed in the year 2000 at Amritsar by a group of hockey players and well wishers. The aim of the club is to initiate suitable action to promote the game of the hockey in the region. The club organizes coaching of youngsters, conduction of tournaments, honoring eminent players and has now started a hockey academy to train children at a very young age. Over a span of 9 years the club has made progress by leaps & bounds. The support from all comers of society has been overwhelming. A large number of distinguished people have rendered moral and financial support. 

The Majha region (comprising Amritsar & Gurdaspur districts) covering the area between river Ravi & Beas can boast of substantial contribution to the field of sports in general and hockey in particular. The people are sturdy and hardworking and have potential to put in their best even under odd circumstances.

However in the prevailing environment the region lacked local coordination, forcing talented players to try their luck at Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala or Chandigarh. The Club strives at encouraging and spearheading activities in this direction. Amritsar (at Guru Nanak Dev University Campus) also has the proud privilege of having Astroturf surface, on which players can get a good feel of the ground to be played on at international level. The cooperation and encouragement of eminent personalities of Amritsar and government officials posted at Amritsar has been more than forthcoming to achieve such results in a short span of time.

The Club is a registered body under the societies registration act 1860. It was registered on at Amritsar the registration number is 818. The Club is affiliated to Distt. Hockey Association Amritsar, Punjab Hockey Association and Indian Hockey Federation. The Club has a written constitution and elected set of office bearers. The affairs of the club are carried out in a transparent manner. The accounts of the club are audited annually. the club is in process of obtaining exemption for a donations under section 88UU of the Income Tax Act.
