Players In Action

 Amritsar Hockey Club (Regd.) Registration od Societies Act 1860 Registration No . Asr/818  -The Club was formed in the year 2000 at Amritsar by a group of hockey players and well wishers. The aim of the club is to initiate suitable action to promote the game of the hockey in the region. The club organizes coaching of youngsters, conduction of tournaments, honoring eminent players and has now started a hockey academy to train children at a very young age. Over a span of 9 years the club has made progress by leaps & bounds. The support from all comers of society has been overwhelming. A large number of distinguished people have rendered moral and financial support. 

The Majha region (comprising Amritsar & Gurdaspur districts) covering the area between river Ravi & Beas can boast of substantial contribution to the field of sports in general and hockey in particular. The people are sturdy and hardworking and have potential to put in their best even under odd circumstances.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Hockey Academy (Regd.) Registration of Societies Act 1860 Registration No. Asr/287

Amritsar Hockey Club in association with Spring Dale Educational Society launched a hockey academy for boys under 14 and 17, under 19 years of age. This project is the brainchild of Late Dr. Shivinder Singh Sandhu and Balwinder Singh Shammi Director Amritsar Hockey Club,  Sukminder Singh Mann Chairman 526 students from all over Punjab appeared for the screening test involving mental and physical endurance tests. After preliminary trials nearly 100 boys were short-listed whom a committee comprising of S. Hardip Singh Dhillon IPS Secretary Punjab Hockey Association, Olympian, Jugraj Singh and Prabhjot Singh then screened. On the basis of merit finally 60 boys were selected.
